Ariane Ophir is a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre d'Estudis Demogràfics (CED) in Barcelona. Her work focuses on gender and family dynamics over the life course. Much of her research looks at gender inequality in the division of household labor across partnerships and living arrangements, paying particular attention to family and household composition in the US. In other work, she examines unpaid family caregiving and its relationship with working life expectancy and population aging in Europe. Her recent work examines how gender relations shape union formation and singlehood.
